- The Government of South Africa has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Just Energy Transition (JET) Jobs First Project (SAJJOF): Gender and Social Inclusion in the Mpumalanga Province and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for an Individual Consultant –Junior Procurement Officer, SAJJOF Project.
- Scope of Work: Under the supervision of the Senior Procurement Specialist and the Mpumalanga Green Cluster Agency (MGCA), the consultant will work under the supervision of the Senior Procurement Specialist to manage SAJJOF project procurement activities to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of inventory and services, assist in procurement planning, contract administration, and procurement monitoring and assist in preparation of bidding documents, terms of reference, advertisements, requests for proposals, and technical specifications. He/she will also Coordinate bidder enquiries, Organise and document pre-bid meetings, Facilitate bid openings, evaluations, and reporting, and track no-objection approvals.
- The Government now invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested consultants should provide CVs on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this assignment.
- Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Framework for Bank Group Funded Operations” dated 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at:https://www.afdb.org/en/projects-and-operations/procurement/new-procurement-policy. A Consultant will be selected under Consultants’ Qualifications Selection method.
- Estimated Duration and Start Date: The estimated duration of services is 12 months, with a three-month probation period. The expected start date is 19th May, 2024.
- Terms of Reference (ToR) Availability: Interested consultants may obtain the ToR at the address below during office hours (08:00 to 17:00).
- Submission of Expressions of Interest: Expressions of interest in English must be delivered to the address below by 2 May, 2025, and mention “Consultancy for Junior Procurement Officer, SAJJOFF Project”. Submissions may also be sent by email.
