MGCA Participates in Business Stakeholder Engagement Session in Amersfoort

The Mpumalanga Green Cluster Agency (MGCA) recently attended the Business Stakeholder Engagement Session held in Amersfoort, within the Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Local Municipality. The event was hosted by the MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Ms J. Sidell on October 16.

The engagement session served as a vital platform for local entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and small enterprises to interact with government departments and entities, exploring available support and opportunities for growth.

MGCA contributed to the dialogue by sharing insights on the green economy and its potential to drive sustainable entrepreneurship. Key focus areas included:

  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Circular Economy
  • Water Stewardship
  • Renewable Energy

The session was also attended by the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA), the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER), and the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC), reinforcing a multi-stakeholder approach to economic development.

In her closing remarks, MEC Sidell emphasised the department’s mandate to empower and nurture small businesses and cooperatives, affirming that MSME development remains central to economic transformation in the province.

This engagement reflects MGCA’s ongoing commitment to bridging government and community, and advancing inclusive participation in the green economy.
